About Rachel
Exploring the wonder of magical places, the poetry of images and the freedom found in ideas occupied a large part of Rachel's youth, which was split between Wisconsin and South Florida where she wandered the grounds of the Collonades Beach Hotel on Singer Island with the great art benefactor, John D. MacArthur, famous for his "genius grants."
The wonder of youth is something she has worked diligently to guard and nurture as an adult. Rachel loves learning new things, the absurd and adventure.
Energy of line and bold color have always been central to her work, and she draws upon the whimsical and the intense alike.
After earning her degree in Art Education at the University of Florida, she worked as an Art Teacher in public schools and as a Program Coordinator at the Harn Museum of Art in Gainesville, Florida.
She then moved to California to work as a Park Decorator at the Disneyland Resort where she finds endless inspiration. Her accumulated experiences and can-do attitude give her a unique perspective from which to make her own style of art.
Rachel is a member of the Los Angeles Art Association, Squeeze Art Collective and the Long Beach Arts Association.
